Unless otherwise specified, all dimensions are expressed as internal dimensions in inches, as follows:
- Length (L) is Width x Height (H)
- Length (L) is the longer dimension at the opening
- Width (W) is the shorter dimension at the opening
- Height (H) is the dimension from the top of the opening to the base
About Box Dimensions
The measurements of a cardboard box are provided in this sequence: length, width, and depth. Internationally, length, breadth, and height are used to express these dimensions. It is described based on the opening of a fully assembled box, which is located on the top or side, depending on how the box is filled.
A box’s opening is a rectangle; that is, it has two sets of parallel sides. Whichever side is longer is considered as the length and the shorter of the two sides is its width. Meanwhile, the depth of the box is the side perpendicular to length and width.
